TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Menteri Koordinator Bidang Kemaritiman dan Investasi Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan meminta pemerintah Cina melonggarkan bea masuk untuk produk-produk dari Indonesia. Permintaan tersebut ia sampaikan kala bertemu langsung dengan Presiden Cina Xi Jinping dalam pembukaan China International Import Expo (CIIE) di Cina, kemarin, 5 November 2019.
“Saya sampaikan mengenai kondisi terakhir ekspor dari Indonesia. Tentu saya sampaikan juga meminta keringanan atau penghapusan kebijakan pemerintah Cina yang menerapkan tarif masuk untuk impor produk baja dari Indonesia,” ujar Luhut dalam keterangan tertulis, Rabu, 6 November 2019.
Selain bea masuk baju, Luhut menyinggung produk ekspor lain yang potensial seperti nanas, sarang burung, dan kelapa sawit. Adapula produk ekspor bijih nikel, tembaga, timah, dan bauksit.
Luhut mengatakan Cina adalah pasar potensial bagi Indonesia karena memiliki jumlah penduduk mencapai 1,4 miliar. Ia berharap, dengan keringanan bea masuk, Indonesia dapat meningkatkan produk ekspornya.
Untuk meyakinkan Xi, Luhut menyatakan pemerintah Indonesia terus melakukan berbagai perbaikan di sisi regulasi. Pemerintah saat ini juga akan memberi kepastian untuk memudahkan para investor dalam proses investasi.
Melalui diskusi singkatnya, menyitir Xi, Luhut menyatakan orang Presiden Cina ini akan mempertimbangkannya. Adapun pameran yang dihadiri Luhut bertujuan menarik komunitas bisnis dan investasi internasional di tengah perang dagang negara tersebut dengan Amerika Serikat.
Dalam pidato saat acara berlangsung, Xi mengatakan CIIE adalah bentuk usaha pemerintah Cina mendukung liberalisasi perdagangan dan globalisasi ekonomi untuk membuka pasar bagi dunia. Selain Luhut, acara ini dihadiri Menteri Perdagangan Agus Suparmanto.
