Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Indonesia sebagai salah satu negara besar di Asia Pasifik selalu menjadi barometer dalam mengambil kebijakan kawasan regional. Dalam banyak hal, Indonesia selalu menjadi negara bangsa yang punya posisi strategis dalam membangun koalisi kepentingan kawasan regional.
Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) telah berkomitmen untuk memprioritaskan isu pemanasan global dan pelestarian lingkungan hidup. Konferensi pemuda internasional yang diselenggarakan di Indonesia ternyata akan mengangkat isu lingkungan hidup.
Pergerakan Indonesia menjadi salah satu organisasi politik yang memiliki komitmen untuk tetap menjaga kelestarian ekosistem lingkungan hidup dan akan hadir dalam konferensi pemuda tersebut. Konferensi ini dilangsungkan di Medan dan dihadiri 20 pemuda-pemudi yang datang dari negara Asia Pasifik dan Eropa. Mereka membawa pengalamannya masing-masing.
Sekretaris Jenderal (Sekjen) Pergerakan Indonesia Abi Rekso menjelaskan bahwa masih banyak pekerjaan pemerintah dalam isu lingkungan. “Isu mengurangi sampah plastik bisa menjadi konsolidator membangun kesadaran akan lingkungan, meski terlihat sepele tetapi itu bukan hal yang mudah dilakukan secara konsisten,” ujar Abi Rekso di Jakarta, Sabtu (30/11/2019)
Abi Rekso juga menekankan ini bukan lagi soal konsep atau teori pengelolaan sampah. Ini bergantung pada bentuk komitmen politik yang serius.
Guru besar Soeryo Adiwibowo selaku Penasihat Senior Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan (KLHK) juga menekankan bahwa Indonesia menjadi salah satu negara di Asia yang berkomitmen terhadap pelestarian lingkungan. “Ritme kerja Menteri LHK Siti Nubaya, mengikuti pola kerja Pak Presiden, antisipatif dan responsif. Cara kerja seperti ini juga, yang perlahan membawa perubahan positif dalam kinerja KLHK,” kata Soeryo.
Dalam perspektif masyarakat sipil, aktivis Pergerakan Indonesia Arimbi Heroepoetri mengatakan, isu moratorium kelapa sawit bisa masih menjadi masalah prioritas dalam upaya melawan pemanasan global. “Pemerintah harus lebih tegas kepada pengusaha kelapa sawit swasta. Karena, penguasaan konsesi lahan didominasi oleh swasta. Itu bisa dimaknai titik pemanasan global yang ada di wilayah Indonesia berada pada kawasan kelapa sawit swasta,” kata Arimbi.
