KONTAN.CO.ID- JAKARTA. Pemerintah berharap India masih masuk dalam Kerja Sama Ekonomi Komperhensif Regional (RCEP). Salah satu hal yang meyakinkan adalah pertemuan Presiden Joko Widodo dengan Perdana Menteri India Narendra Modi.
Pemerintah Indonesia menilai ada sinyal positif yang diberikan India dalam pertemuan tersebut.
“Saya dengar pernyataan PM Modi sebenarnya sangat positif dalam arti ingin supaya mendukung dan menjadi bagian dari penyelesaian RCEP yang segera. Jadi saya megangnya itu ya,” ujar Wakil Menteri Luar Negeri Mahendra Siregar usai menghadiri Rapat Koordinasi Nasional Kamar Dagang dan Industri (Kadin) Indonesia, Selasa (5/11).
Mahendra bilang negosiasi akan tetap dilakukan. Termasuk dengan India akan dilakukan perundingan bila perlu dilakukan penjadwalan.
Pada pernyataan bersama, 15 negara menyepakati penyelesaian RCEP pada tahun 2020. Negara tersebut memahami kondisi India memiliki masalah yang masih belum terselesaikan.
Semua negara RCEP akan bekerja bersama untuk menyelesaikan masalah ini dengan cara yang saling menguntungkan. Keputusan akhir India akan tergantung pada solusi yang terbaik dari masalah ini.
“Tidak bisa kapan pun (India masuk) tentu ada prosesnya dengan catatan hal yang sudah dinegosiasikan harus dipenuhi,” terang Mahendra.
Asal tahu saja RCEP memiliki potensi pasar yang besar. Berdasarkan Kementerian Perdagangan potensi RCEP mencapai 50% populasi dunia, 30% perdagangan global, dan 28% penanaman modal asing dunia.
