“Para pelaku usaha harus memanfaatkan peluang yang muncul di tengah tantangan yang dihadapi produk sawit Indonesia. Tidak jarang peluang yang muncul nantinya dapat pula meningkatkan daya saing produk di pasar global,” tegas Staf Ahli Bidang Hubungan Internasional Kementerian Perdagangan, Dandy Satria Iswara.
Hal itu disampaikan Dandy dalam acara temu wicara bertema ‘Peluang dan Tantangan Pasar Sawit Indonesia di Dunia Internasional’ di Tangerang, Banten, Kamis 10 Oktober 2024.
Kegiatan ini dihadiri Perwakilan Perdagangan RI dari berbagai negara di dunia.
Kegiatan dilaksanakan di sela gelaran Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) ke-39 2024 yang berlangsung pada 9—12 Oktober 2024.
Dandy menuturkan, salah satu tantangan di sektor sawit adalah regulasi baru dari Uni Eropa yang
dikenal sebagai European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). Peraturan ini bertujuan untuk mengurangi deforestasi global dengan mengatur impor komoditas yang dianggap berkontribusi pada deforestasi, termasuk sawit, sehingga eksportir diminta untuk bisa memastikan keterlacakan dari produknya.
“Pada 2022, produk turunan sawit Indonesia mencatat pertumbuhan ekspor yang signifikan di beberapa pasar seperti Filipina, Arab Saudi, dan Turki,” tandas Dandy.
Untuk menjaga daya saing di pasar global, pemerintah meningkatkan penerapan standar keberlanjutan. Saat ini pemerintah telah mengeluarkan standar mutu sawit berkelanjutan yaitu Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO). Standar baru ini bertujuan untuk memastikan produk sawit Indonesia memenuhi standar, prinsip, dan kriteria pengolahan bisnis kelapa sawit berkelanjutan.
“Langkah-langkah pemerintah ini diharapkan mampu mengatasi berbagai tantangan yang ada, meningkatkan akses pasar ke negara-negara yang semakin peduli pada keberlanjutan, serta membuka pasar baru untuk produk sawit dan turunannya,” kata Dandy.
Kementerian Perdagangan berkomitmen terus mendukung ekspor nasional, termasuk sawit.
